Sheep spotting in Brighton

There is so much to do and see in Brighton. Especially following the recent opening of the National Open Water Swimming Centre on Madeira Drive, and more coming soon with plans for Black Rock.

But if the pier(s), Pavilion, aquarium, Volks Railway and the many shops, cafes, bars and boutiques are not enough to draw you to this bustling section of the south coast then – how about sheep!

Not just your average sheep – Shaun the Sheep. 42 of them to be exact – all decorated by local artists and dotted around the city. There are also 77 little Shaun sculptures painted by local schools and community groups. In aid of Martlets hospice care – and with a well stocked merchandise shop to raise important funds – the trail continues until the 5th of November 2023, after which the Shauns will be raffled and auctioned.

A news video clip all about the flock can be seen here.

So, what better excuse to go for a walk than sheep spotting with an ice cream on the beach. Fat Boy Slim has walked to them all, but you can choose a route to suit you with this map of all the locations – there is also an app. So, go and enjoy a walk around this amazing city – but, take a woolly jumper as Brighton can be breezy in Autumn!

Or have a look at these three Brighton routes, you will definitely pass a few sheep on your way.
